junit-jupiter 6.x requires Java 17 (its Gradle module metadata declares org.gradle.jvm.version=17). This library sets source/targetCompatibility to 1.8 and CI tests on JDK 8, 11, 16, 17 and 21, so resolution of 6.1.3 fails on every job with "No matching variant ... compatible with Java 8". 5.14.4 is the latest release that still targets Java 8. Gradle 8.7 ships junit-platform-launcher 1.10.x, which is too old for platform 1.14.x, so junit-platform-launcher is added as testRuntimeOnly to let the JUnit BOM align it. Lockfile regenerated.
